I remember a time when I was experiencing a major emotional meltdown in prayer. I was battling depression, loneliness, and negative thoughts. I was frustrated, discouraged and angry. I loathed the season I was in and I wanted it to be over.
Since I was alone with God, I was in rare form. I was crying hysterically, complaining about my situation, and threatening to give up if He didn't change my trajectory. I'm sure God had compassion for me, but He was not moved or bothered by my threats.
Amid this hot mess, my thoughts spiraled out of control. That's when I realized I was under spiritual attack and the enemy wasn't taking any prisoners.
How disrespectful, inconvenient, and unfair it was for the enemy to attack me while I was weak! So, that's where I started. I declared, God when I am weak You are strong. You will never leave me and You will never forsake me. You are with me in the battle and You fight for me. No weapon formed against me will prosper. I am seated with Christ in Heavenly places. You are faithful and Your promises still stand. I kept praying, praising, and reciting God’s word. After some time, a wave of peace swept over me and I fell asleep.
The next day in prayer time, I had a vision. I saw myself in the position I was in when I was crying and reciting God’s word. I also saw what looked like plexiglass around me. Behind the plexiglass, there was a horde of military demons pushing on the glass trying to attack me. However, the plexiglass (Holy Spirit) was a shield of protection around me.
Warriors, your prayers, worship, and praise are your armor and nuclear weapons of war. Suit up and take charge now!
